This was around 85% city driving with no clue as to how I did it but I'm not going to complain. It is also almost twice my all time worst average of 15.3 and more then 40% over the EPA rating. All this means is more money for my future S2000. So, oppo what's the best mpg you have achieved?

I did somewhere close to 32 mpg during my Miata shenanigans in the mountains, but I think part of it was due to me being off throttle for the most part going downhill. I recently averaged 28.8 mpg doing mostly highway driving with an autocross and some minor town driving thrown in. Government says I should be getting 27 mpg highway and 25 combined.

I'm trying to save money so I'm driving my mom's cruze. My Silverado gets a lofty 16 avg around town. The cruze gets almost mid 30s around town. So yeah I'm saving a lot.

I'm currently averaging 30.2 on this tank. Best tank I've had was about 32, average is around 28

46 in a Cruze ECO 6MT on a two hour drive on relatively flat terrain. Not salt flats flat but not mountainous either. I think I averaged about 70 mph. Not too bad I think. Kind of miss that car.

I've had a few Cruze's and still own one (spoiler alert: I love it). What are your impressions of it? Full well knowing it's not the vehicle you chose, I would still like to hear how you like it (or not).

I like it. It is very nimble and it's size is perfect for city use. It has the turbo engine mated to a six speed auto. It responds quickly. Negatives are the electric steering (hard to explain I just like the heavy feel of my truck) and the seats aren't as comfortable as my truck. If I were to get a compact it would be a cruze or VW's golf/jetta. I wish there was a SS version.

Best tank in the Mazda3 was 44.2 mpg average, between Ann Arbor, MI and Nashville, TN.

Best overall was 45.1 mpg when I was commuting 60+ miles a day for summer classes, to the local community college. That was in a '93 Nissan Sentra. I miss that car.

Note: The Mazda is the better economy car, because it did that trip with AC on, while the Sentra had no AC... I also averaged 60+ mph in the Mazda on that run, vs. 35 average in the Sentra.

Cruising back from Vegas to L.A. in a 2006 Mazda3 2.3, I managed 39mpg.

You hit the nail on the head. High (even after these years) quality interior, decent turbo, steering is a little numb and needs more power option. I rather like the seats but I also wouldn't hate more side bolstering.
